Help to BUY
The Clophill Road development will be registered with the Help to Buy scheme. Help to Buy is a Government-backed equity loan scheme that aims to make mortgages more readily available to those who cannot afford a large deposit. Available to first-time buyers and people already on the property ladder, the Help to Buy scheme requires just a 5% deposit and a mortgage of up to 75% of the value of the property. So, you pay just 80% of the property price now, and the remaining 20% is provided by a Government equity loan. This is interest free for the first 5 years which could make your monthly mortgage repayments lower. Help to Buy is open to everyone - whether you’re a first-time buyer or looking to move up the property ladder.
AFFORDABLE HOMES
A further five homes will be available through a Housing Association which will be made up of 4 homes of affordable rent and 1 home intermediate tenure (shared ownership). Housing Association comprise in England are independent societies, bodies of trustees or companies established for the purpose of providing low-cost social housing for people in housing need on a non-profit-making basis. Any trading surplus is used to maintain existing homes and to help finance new ones. They are now England’s major providers of new homes for rent, while many also run shared ownership schemes to help people who cannot afford to buy their own homes outright.
